用法辨析
- represent的基本意思是“代表”,多指受委托代表某人、组织、机构、国家等办理某事。引申可指“象征”“体现”“表示”“描绘”“声称”“扮演”等。
- represent既可用作及物动词,也可用作不及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词、代词、that从句作宾语；也可接双宾语，其间接宾语须由介词to引出。represent还可接以as短语充当补足语的复合宾语。
